GAD RC spearheads ‘Training of Trainers on Laws on Violence Against Women and Case Management of Victims of Abuses

The Cavite State University Gender and Development Resource Center (CvSU GAD RC) spearheaded the conduct of “Training of Trainers on Laws on Violence Against Women and Case Management of Victims of Abuses” at STAARRDEC Conference Room, this University, 11-12 July.

Resource speakers who discussed the following topics were: Ms. Shirlyn M. Rom, GAD-RC staff – GAD orientation; Dr. Susan G. Tan, GAD chair for extension – Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 and Anti-Rape Law of 1997; PSI Xelacor Marie C. Garcia, Committee on Women’s and Children Protection Center, Cavite Provincial Police Office – Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003; Ms. Precyl T. Ramos, Social Welfare Officer III, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office – Case Management and Referral System; and Ms. Merlie C. Nahilat, GAD coordinator of the College of Arts and Sciences – Case Management in Handling Sexually Abused Women and Children.

The training was attended by seven male and 32 female college/campus/ unit GAD coordinators and guidance counselors.

DR. CRESINO ASSISTS THE GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT FOCAL POINT SYSTEM OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF INDANG, CAVITE

Dr. Nelia C. Cresino assists the Gender and Development Focal Point System of the municipality of Indang, Cavite during seminar-workshop on Gender and Development Planning and Mainstreaming on August 17-18, 2017 at Hostel Tropicana, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. The seminar aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the members of the GAD-FPS Executive Committee and Technical Working Group on GAD and GAD Planning and Budgeting.

The seminar-workshop started with the invocation and singing of national anthem, followed by the opening remarks Hon. Perfecto V. Fidel, Municipal mayor.

Dr. Cresino, served as resource speaker on the following topics: GAD Orientation, expenses that can be and cannot be charged to GAD, use of Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines, and GAD Planning and Budgeting. Workshop on the use of HGDG was also done on the first day. The second day of the seminar-workshop was devoted on the preparation of the GAD plan and budget of their respective unit/department. (SMRom)
