Gender and Development Training of Trainers and Benchmarking

The Gender and Development Resource Center conducted a Gender and Development Training of Trainers and Benchmarking on February 8-10, 2017 at Bakasyunan Resort, Tanay, Rizal to develop pool of GAD trainers and sustain GAD efforts in the university.

Ms. Maria Soledad M. Lising, Director, Extension Services, oriented the participants on Gender and Development and Gender Fair Language. Likewise, Ms. Renifer R. Francisco, CHED Education Supervsor II and PCW National GAD Resource Pool Member discussed Gender Analysis and Gender Analysis Tools. The lecture was followed by a workshop on the use of HGDG. As well, Dr. Wilhelmina P. Masinsin, GAD Resource Center, University Of Rizal System and PCW National GAD Resource Pool Member discussed GAD Planning and Budgeting. Moreover, Dr. Liza C. Costa, Dean, CvSU Imus Campus, tackled the Integration of GAD in the Course Syllabi.

On the second day, the lecture on Gender Related Laws such as Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 (RA7877) and Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004 were provided by Dr. Nelia C. Cresino, Director, GAD and Ms. Susan G. Tan, GAD Chair for Extension, respectively.

The last day was devoted in GAD benchmarking in the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal for their LGU’s GAD best practices.
