GAD provides training for Indang Association of Persons with Disability, Inc. Doormat making for residents of Brgy. Alulod

 

The GAD Resource Center, together with the Extension Services Unit of the University provided training on Pickle Making (Papaya and Ampalaya) to the 19 members of Indang Association of Persons With Disability, Inc., at the Session Hall of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development, 12 May.

Vegetable processing was one of the needs identified by members during the needs assessment conducted on April 21, 2017.

Ms. Elvira B. Perlado, staff of the extension services unit of the University, served as the trainor. The said training was coordinated by Mr. Florian de Borja, president of the Association to the GAD Resource Center.

On the other hand, another training on doormat making was also provided to 19 residents of Brgy. Alulod, Indang, Cavite, 18 May.

Ms. Demetria Calisaan of Brgy. Kayquit III, Indang, Cavite, who was trained on doormat making by GAD-RC served as trainor.

Doormat making was one of the livelihood projects identified by the residents during the needs assessment conducted on April 27, 2017.

Dr. Nelia C. Cresino, GAD director and Ms. Raecel A. Estebat, GAD staff, were present and facilitated both activities, while Ms. Shirlyn M. Rom, GAD staff and Ms. Julita M. Mojica, staff of the extension services unit, facilitated only the training for Indang Association of Persons With Disability, Inc.

 

Dr. Cresino Joins the GEnder and Development Training of the Provincial Government of Cavite

The Provincial Government of Cavite sponsored a Gender and Development Training among the Members of the GADFPS at Azalea Hotel and Residences, Baguio City on May 24-26, 2017. It was attended by Gov. Jesus Crispin C. Remulla, Board Member Reinalyn V. Varias, Provincial Administrators, Department Heads, and other members of the GADFPS Namely: Department of Labor and Employment, Social Welfare and Development – Cavite Chapter, Committee on Women and Children Protection Center, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources, Persons with Disability, and Cavite State University.

The training aims to capacitate the GADFPS on mainstreaming GAD, Gender Tools and Guidelines, and GAD Planning and Budgeting. Ms. Lovely s. Mores of NEDA talked about gender and social construct, gender issues resulting from gender construct, GAD policies and laws, duties and responsibilities of GADFPS, and Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF).

On the second day, the group had a workshop on the application of harmonized gad guidelines using the generic checklist box 7-a. Mr. Donald James Gawe of NEDA provided lecture on gender analysis and GAD planning and budgeting.

On the third day, benchmarking around the town was done.

Trained Doormat Maker Trains Residents of Brgy. Alulod

The Gender and Development Resource Center of Cavite State University provided training on doormat making to the 19 residents of Brgy. Alulod, Indang, Cavite on May 18, 2017 in the residence of one of the participants.
