The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) recently conferred the award to Cavite State University (CvSU) as top performing state university during the annual national conference held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, Cebu City, 7 – 9 March.

CvSU bested 102 other state universities and colleges in the country with the most number of accredited degree programs for 2017. Dr. Hernando D. Robles, university president, proudly received the plaque of recognition, along with other university officials, namely: Dr. Camilo A. Polinga, vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, dean of the Graduate School and Open Learning College; Dr. Bettina Joyce P. Ilagan, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Prof. John Xavier B. Nepomuceno, administrator of Naic Campus; and Dr. Adolfo C. Manuel, Jr., director for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (QAAC). “This is the fruit of hard work, dedication and commitment of the men and women of CvSU”, he emphasized.

The year 2017 was transformation year for the university and with the unified effort and support from each member of the academic community; it bravely submitted and pulled it off 49-degree programs for accreditation.

Of the 120 total number of program offerings, CvSU to date has the following number of accredited programs per level: 44 level 1 accredited; 28 level 2; 13 level 3; 1 level 4; 17 programs are candidates for accreditation; and only 17 programs are scheduled for preliminary visit before the accreditation proper.

In 2016, CvSU was also recognized as one of the top ten performing SUCs in accreditation, capturing the rank 7 spot. Congratulations!
