Partnership on the conduct of various research and development activities for emerging energy technologies was sealed between Cavite State University and Department of Energy during the Inception meeting of the DOE-funded projects held at Hostel Tropicana, January 22.

In a message from Mr. Patrick T. Aquino, Director of the Energy Utilization Management Bureau, he stated that outputs of current research and development activities may serve as a guide for policy makers in terms of further utilization of electronic vehicles. It was supported by Ms. Lourdes Maria A. Capricho, Chief of Alternative Fuels and Energy Division, as she emphasized on the contribution of the project on the security of energy supply in the country. She also introduced the members of DOE Counterpart who will assist and supervise the implementation of the projects.

On the other hand, Dr. Camilo A. Polinga who serves as the Project Manager discussed the overview of the project and introduced the program team. The following are the projects included in the said program: Development and Fabrication of Energy Harnessing Equipment to be headed by Dr. Marilyn M. Escobar; Assessment of the Actual Road Performance of the Hybrid Electric Vehicles in Local Traffic and Road Conditions in the Philippines with Dr. Ariel G. Santos as Assistant Project Leader; and Development of TESDA-Aligned Electric Vehicle Technician Course Module to be led by Prof. Danielito R. Escaño.
