To foster awareness and further uphold the social and economic impact of tourism, the Provincial Government of Cavite through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office celebrated the Cavite Tourism Month last September with the theme “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”. Aside from the tourism conference and other activities, part of the celebration were the essay writing contest and tour guiding competition held on 25 September 2021.

Students from Cavite State University swept the essay writing contest as Ms. Cherika Valdezco (BS Tourism Management, CvSU-Tanza), Ms. Blessilda Aspa (BS International Studies, CvSU-Main) and Ms. Camille Flores (BS Tourism Management, CvSU-Main) won the Tourism Trends and Demands, Tourism Recovery, and Sustainable Tourism Development categories, respectively. The essay writing contest revolved on the theme “The Role of Young Community Champions in the Tourism for Inclusive Growth.”

Meanwhile, BS Tourism Management students from the Main Campus namely, Mr. Jomel Ian Arboso and Ms. Jeraldine Ruth Matel Baes won the first and second runner up, respectively during the virtual tour guiding competition. During the competition, Mr. Arboso showcased Sta Cruz Convent Museum, Sinudsod, Maragondon River and Regada Festival while Ms. Baes presented Buhay Forest, Tilbok, Pahimis Festival and Gingerbread House.
