WOMEN’S MONTH CELEBRATION

Kick-Off Day at Main Gate (Gate 1), CvSU

After the Flag raising ceremony, Dr. Nelia C. Cresino, Director, GAD Focal Committee provides a brief orientation about the Women’s Month Celebration. She emphasizes the laws related to the celebration, namely: Presidential Proclamation No. 224 declaring the first week of March of each year as Women’s Week; Presidential Proclamation No. 227 declaring March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day; and Republic Act No. 6949 which provides for the observance of the month of March as Women’s Role in History Month. For CvSU, Board Resolution No. 14, s. 2015 declares the Second Thursday of March as Women’s Day in Cavite State University.

Dr. Nelia C. Cresino announces the activities to support the Women’s Month Celebration, Logo Making Contest, Crowd Sourcing of Gender Issues through Musical Play and GAD-FPS Got Talent Seniors Edition.

The College of Engineering and Information Technology (1st Place winner during the 2015 Street Dance competition) presents their winning dance number to the CvSU Community (faculty members, employees and students). Every Monday of March starting February 29, the university also plays the “2015 Juana, Ikaw na ang Manguna” official dance song before the flag raising ceremony.

March 10, 2016 – Women’s Day in CvSU at SM Rolle Hall, CvSU

           In support to the Women’s Month Celebration with the theme “Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda”, CvSUans celebrates Women’s Day on March 10, 2016 at the SM Rolle Hall, Cavite State University. The activity aims to give due recognition  to the contributions of Filipino women in the society, gather perception on what women’s issue should be prioritized by the next administration, and strengthen public advocacy on National Women’s Month, with emphasis on women’s issues that still need to be addressed. Prof. Lenila A. de Vera, Dean of College of Nursing, delivers the message of Dr. Rhodora S. Crizaldo, Vice-President for Academic Affairs. She emphasizes that it is an honor for the university to be awarded as the Most Outstanding State University in Gender and Development Implementation in CALABARZON in 2014. She thanks the University President, GAD Coordinators, and everybody for supporting the GAD programs of the university. “Isa po itong patunay na ang ating Unibersidad ay hindi lamang sumusunod sa direktiba ng ating pamahalaan kundi tunay na isinasabuhay natin ang pagkakapantay-pantay anuman ang kasarian ng ating mga kawani at kasamahan. The attendees are faculty members, employees, and students of the university. The program includes Logo Making Contest, Crowd Sourcing of Gender Issues through musical play and GAD-FPS Got Talent Seniors Edition.

In the crowd sourcing of gender issues through musical play contest, the winners are: College of Education, 1st Place; College of Nursing, 2nd Place, while CvSU Tanza Campus and CvSU-Naic Campus, 3rd Place.

The winners in the Logo Making Contest are College of Engineering (1st Place), CvSU-Rosario Campus (2nd Place) and CvSU-Tanza Campus (3rd place).

Moreover, on the GAD-FPS Got Talent Seniors Edition, the winners are Ms. Rosemarie R. Calma (CAS), 1st Prize; Mr. Efren Pegos (CvSU-Rosario), 2ndPrize; and Mr. Reynaldo Chavez (OVPEBA), 3rd Prize.

March 14, 2016 – Launching and MOA Signing of Extension Program of the College of Criminal Justice, International House II, CvSU

The college of Criminal Justice sponsors the Launching and MOA Signing of the 7K Advocay Extension Program (Barangay Aktibo Tungo sa Alternatibong Solusyon Project for Barangay Justice Service Providers of Indang) with the theme “Accessing Justice through Gender Responsive Barangay Justice System” on March 14, 2016 at the International House II, CvSU. The attendees are the Brgy. Captains, Brgy. Secretary and Lupon Tagapamayapa of the 36 barangays of Indang, Cavite.

Also, the GAD Focal Point System distributes the 2016 Women’s Month Collateral (fan) to the participants.
