Gender and Development Focal Point System
The Cavite State University Gender and Development Focal Point System together with the office of Senator Pia S. Cayetano, conducted an Orientation on Gender and Development on August 13, 2015 at the University’s International House II.
The program was attended by the GAD coordinators and alternates, university employees, faculty members and students. Topics discussed include Orientation on Sex and Gender Roles and Agents of Gender Socialization (discussed by Prof. Caridad S. Merced, GAD Alternate Rosario Campus), Gender Issues (Prof. Cecilia F. Lorenzana, GAD Coordinator, Rosario Campus), Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 or RA 7877 (Mr. Victoriano N. Rodil, GAD Coordinator, Cavite City Campus), and Sexism in Language (Ms. Ma. Soledad M. Lising, GAD Coordinator for Extension).
Topics on Maternal and Child Health and Violence Against Women and their Children were discussed by Dr. Vivian Estaquio, Health Consultant, Political Officer and Legislative Staff of the office of Senator Pia S. Cayetano.
The University officials headed by the University President, Dr. Divinia C. Chavez; Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Maria Agnes P. Nuestro; Vice-President for Administrative and Support Services, Dr. Hernando D. Robles; Vice-President for External and Business Affairs, Dr. Luzviminda A. Rodrin; Director for Human Resource Development Office, Dr. Mary Jane D. Tepora; and, Chair of Gender and Development Focal Point System, Dr. Nelia C. Cresino were also present during the entire activity.
Dr. Bettina Joyce P. Ilagan, GAD Coordinator for College of Arts and Sciences and Dr. Analita d.M. Magsino, GAD Coordinator for College of Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental and Natural Resources served as the moderators during the Open Forum. (M.S.M. Lising)
