GAD RC conducts training of trainers on MR GAD KATROPA
The Gender and Development Resource Center (GAD RC) conducted a Training of Trainers on Men’s Responsibility on Gender and Development KAlalakihang Tapat sa Responsibildad at Obligasyon sa PAmilya (MR GAD KATROPA, at the Veranda, Hostel Tropicana, 5-6 October.
The training aimed to develop the competencies of GAD coordinators, faculty members, and employees in teaching responsible parenthood, reproductive health and family planning; appreciate the sharing of responsibilities in reproduction, home management and in maternal and child health; and capacitate male personnel of the university to become an effective MR GAD KATROPA advocates.
Dr. Julio G. Alava, VP for External and Business Affairs, in his welcome message, challenged the participants to conduct the same activity in their respective college/campus/units.
Moreover, Ms. Marilyn F. Ogaya, assistant regional director, POPCOM R4, provided an overview of responsible parenthood-family planning manual and lecture on responsible parenting, gender issues, and decision making on the use of family planning. Likewise, Ms. Charmaine E. Sarabia, planning officer I, discussed topics on nurturing harmonious relationships in the family, importance and benefits of family planning and decision-making for couples, and family planning.
Finally, participants had their return demo on selected topics during the second day of training.
