CvSU Gender and Development Resource Center conducted the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women on December 9, 2019 at the International Convention Center, CvSU, Indang, Cavite.
The activity was attended by 338 female and 330 male faculty members, employees, students, and stakeholders of different colleges and campuses of the university.
Mr. Dionisio B. Dalusong, Chief of ther Institutional Development Division of DSWD Field Office IV-A, discussed the roles of men in achieving gender equality and the vision, mission, and objectives of Men Opposed to Violence Against Women Everywhere (MOVE). He also challenged and encouraged the participants to actively participate in the fight against violence against women.
USec. Astravel P. Naik, Executive Director of Commission on Filipinos Overseas, discussed the mandates of their agency and shared some cases they handled related to human trafficking.
Mr. Dalusong also discussed the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) by pointing that GBV is a human rights violation and is punishable by law.
Dr. Leyma L. Cero, VP for Planning and Development, and Dr. Julio G. Alava, VP for External and Business Affairs, stated their commitment to end violence against women.
Recognition of partners of the GAD Resource Center, awarding of Certificates of the Winners of the Digital Poster Making, distribution of IEC materials, and promotion of the livelihood projects of the GAD-RC were also done during the activity.
