In line with the celebration of April as the National Month of Literature, Cavite State University launched “Bayanihan sa pamamagitan ng Panitikan”, a call for the members of the community to share poems of inspiration to motivate readers and uplift their spirits amidst the crisis.

Dr. Hernando D. Robles, University President, started expressing his support to the frontliners with his piece entitled “Bagong Bayani: Salamat Frontliners”. It was then followed by “Bulaklak” written by Ms. Lolita Herrera, Director of Finance Management Office, and “Miracles Abound” by Ms. Mariel M. Lising, Director of International and Local Collaboration and Linkages Office.

Poems written by faculty members are: “Dahil Sayo!” by Jhustyn Ryerson Delos Trinos of the College of Economics, Management and Development Studies; “Sambitla” by Mr. Abdullah Tabale Abubakar of the  College of Arts and Sciences; and “A Step Back in Order to Move Forward” by Ms. Jaodarnilaynn Loyola of the College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation.

Featured pieces from students include: “Bayani” by Eldrian Contreras (Bachelor in Elementary Education); “Corona o Korona” by Via Mae Villanueva (Bachelor in Secondary Education); “Ang Nakaraang Kasalukuyan” by Mark Noriel Lacbayen (BS Business Management); “Mga Bayani ng Pandemya” by Vincent Olipano (BS Business Management); “Frontliners” by Jasper Famini (Bachelor of Secondary Education); and “Laban Frontliners” by Jackie Palpallatoc (BS Education major in Mathematics).

Alumni also expressed their support through the following poems: “Bayani ng Bayan Ko” by Therese Peji (BS Psychology, 2017); “Saludo” by Crystal Sheen Vicedo (BS Tourism Management, 2017); “Frontliners, Kumusta Na” by Ian Paul Atienza (BS Civil Engineering,2019); “Laban Bayan Ko!” By Erica De Castro Arica (BS Business Management, 2020): and Bayani Juan by Joshua Villaluz (BS Fisheries, 2016).
