Gender and Development Resource Center (GADRC) sponsored the celebration of the 2020 18-Day Campaign to End Violence against Women (VAW) via Zoom Video Communications, Inc. and Facebook Live on December 15, 2020. It was participated by 667 female and 291 male faculty members, non-academic employees, students, and external clients of the university.

The objectives of the celebration was to pursue the common vision of a VAW-free community and identify measures that will respond to the needs of victims/survivors of abuses.

Dr. Hernando D. Robles, University President, welcomed all the administrators of the university, the participants of the webinar, and the resource speaker. In his message, he assured that CvSU and GAD-RC will continue to pursue the equality relevant to the rights and privileges of women and children.

Ms. Shirlyn M. Rom-Leachon discussed the house rules, objectives of the activity, and the results of the pretest answered by the participants. She also introduced the resource speaker.

Dr. Nelia C. Cresino, a Certified National GAD Resource Pool Member of PCW and the former GAD Director of CvSU, oriented the participants on the laws in relation to violence against women. Dr. Cresino also answered questions from the participants which revolve around experiences and knowledge of the participants in relation to VAW.

In her closing message, Ms. Raecel A. Estebat, OIC, GAD-RC, expressed her gratitude to everyone who always support the GAD endeavors of the university.
