Assistant Secretary-designate for Operations of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and concurrently the Regional Executive Director of DA-Regional Field Office IV-A Engr. Arnel V. De Mesa led the turnover of the four-wheel-drive tractor worth P2.06 million to Cavite State University on 06 January 2022.
In his message during the turnover ceremony, Asec. De Mesa acknowledged the important role of state universities and colleges like CvSU in co-planning, co-managing, co-implementing, and co-financing agri projects. He also said that he looks forward to seeing more experts from the University being involved in various collaboration projects with DA.
Dr. Hernando D. Robles, on the other hand, assured Asec. De Mesa of the University’s commitment and readiness to partner and collaborate with the Department for the improvement of the agricultural sector of the Province of Cavite.
Other DA officials present during the turnover ceremony were DA-RFO IV-A OIC Chief for Field Operations Division Engr. Redeliza A. Gruezo, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer – Cavite Felix Joselito H. Noceda, Indang Municipal Agriculturist Ireneo Bayot, and Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section representative Jerwin de Chavez.
Meanwhile, witnesses in the turnover were CvSU vice presidents – Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, Dr. Camilo A. Polinga. Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac, Dr. Marilyn M. Escobar, Director for Research Dr. Miriam D. Baltazar, and officials from the College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources Dr. Venus Saz, Prof. Guillermo Desinganio, and Prof. Edgardo Gonzales.
The tractor was part of the P7 million grant to the University by DA thru Sec. William D. Dar.
