The Gender and Development Resource Center (GADRC) successfully conducted the 2023 GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop on 19-21 September 2022 at the Babaylan Training Room
Prior to the workshop, the 28 participants (16 females and 12 males) were oriented by Ms. Raecel A. Estebat, in-charge for Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation on the legal mandates and guidelines for the plan and budget preparation. She also discussed the six steps of gender mainstreaming, which are conscientization, advocacy, competency development, capacity building, operationalization, and institutionalization.
After the discussion, the GAD Coordinators proceeded to write their respective college/campus/unit’s 2023 GAD plan and budget which was presented on the next day as part of the workshop continuation.
Ms. Rowena Peñalba, Head of the Cashier Department, delivered the closing remarks on behalf of Ms. Asuncion R. Reyes, Officer-In-Charge of the Financial Management Services Office (FMSO).
The 2023 GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop aims to assist the attendees in identifying programs, projects, and activities that will address gender issues in the university and its adopted communities, as well as increase the participants’ knowledge on the value of the GAD program as a tool in establishing a highly gender-responsive institution.
