Two Cavite State University (CvSU) alumni and educators based in the United States are recognized for their remarkable impact in uplifting the teaching profession.
Dr. Eleuterio F. Timbol and Ms. Lady Aileen Ambion-Orsal received the Excellence Award in the Teaching Profession from the United Federation of Fil-Am Educators, Inc. (UNIFFIED) during the organization’s 10th anniversary celebration on May 25, 2024 in Newark, New Jersey, USA.
A PhD in Educational Management alumnus and high school teacher based in New York City, Dr. Timbol has been previously awarded with the 2024 SLOAN Award for Excellence in Teaching Science and Mathematics, and the 2022 Governor’s Empire State Excellence in Teaching Award for his exemplary teaching and dedication to helping students in fields related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Meanwhile, Ms. Ambion-Orsal, a communication studies scholar and cultural advocate, is the first Filipino language preceptor at Harvard University. She graduated summa cum laude with BA Mass Communication (Major in Journalism) degree from CvSU, and recently completed MA Communication Studies from Northern Illinois University. Before her teaching stint in the US, Ms. Ambion-Orsal served as a faculty member of the College of Arts and Sciences – Department of Languages and Mass Communication, and director of the Public Affairs and Communications Office.
A duly registered 501(c)(3) and a SEC registered non-profit organization in the US and in the Philippines, UNIFFIED is an organization of educators sharing “the vision of dedicating their skills in promoting excellence in teaching and providing community service through projects that will benefit their community.”
