Cavite State University (CvSU) colleges and satellite campuses battled it out for glory and honor in this year’s University Games and 3rd Angara’s Cup with the theme “CHEERS: Championing Health, Excellence, and Engagement through Recreation and Sports,” October 7-11, at the Main Campus in Indang, Cavite.
Nearly a thousand athletes from CvSU’s 22 colleges and satellite campuses competed in the following sports: archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball (3×3 and 5×5), baseball, billiards, chess, esports (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang), football, futsal, karatedo, lawn tennis, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.
Advanced games for basketball, volleyball, football, badminton, table tennis, and lawn tennis were also held on September 30 – October 4 at the Main Campus.
The CvSU – CCAT Pistons emerged as overall champions with 49 gold, 15 silver, and 31 medals followed by Bacoor Stingrays (42 gold, 37 silver, 35 bronze), and Imus Heroes (32 gold, 40 silver, and 31 bronze).
The 2024 University Games was hosted by the College of Engineering and Information Technology and Cavite City Campus, with Cavite 1st District Rep. Ramon Jolo B. Revilla III, Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Mr. Jasper Nuñez from the Office of Sen. Sonny M. Angara, and Ms. Gene Pahati from the Office of Sen. Pia S. Cayetano giving their inspirational messages to the delegates.
