Cavite State University (CvSU) Hornets emerged as third place overall in the 8th Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (STRASUC) Olympics 2024 held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, October 21-25.

Securing 35 gold, 57 silver, and 39 bronze medals, CvSU ranked third behind this year’s champion Palawan State University (PSU) with 123 gold, 91 silver, and 82 bronze medals; and runner-up Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) with 76 gold, 54 silver, and 39 bronze medals. 

CvSU raked in medals in taekwondo, badminton, arnis, athletics, karatedo, 3×3 basketball, table tennis, volleyball, and beach volleyball.  

With the theme “Unity in Diversity, Celebrating Athletic Excellence,” the 2024 STRASUC Olympics hosted by PSU featured the following sporting events: arnis, archery, athletics, badminton, 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, chess, taekwondo, karatedo, dance sports, sepak takraw, swimming, billiards, lawn tennis, and table tennis. 

Participated by over 2,000 delegates, CvSU Hornets joined other competing SUCs in Southern Tagalog including PSU, LSPU, Batangas State University, Marinduque State University, Mindoro State University, Occidental Mindoro State College, Romblon State University, Southern Luzon State University, University of Rizal System, University of the Philippines Los Baños, and Western Philippines University.
