Cavite State University (CvSU) is declared as the fourth runner-up overall in the recently concluded 8th Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges – Culture and Arts Festival (STRASUC-CAF) 2024 held at the University of Rizal System (URS) – Morong Campus, November 25-29, 2024.
Embodying this year’s theme “Tayo na sa Timog Katagalugan, Kultura at Sining ay Isulong!,” CvSU proudly earned top spots in visual and dramatic arts, musical, and dance categories with Main Campus’ Cultural Dance Troupe (Folk Dance) and Student Artiste Society (StARS) (Short and Sweet Play), and CCAT Campus’ Jed Celestial (On-the-Spot Poster Making) emerging as first place overall.
Bagging the third place overall are StARS for Contemporary Dance category, and Shannon Philline L. Millamena for painting.
Furthermore, Main Campus’ Michail Angelique Salamatin secured fifth place overall for Vocal Solo (Kundiman), as well as Imus Campus’ Joseph Kai Robin Castaneda and Cedrieck Peñaranda (Vocal Duet) and Street Dance Team.
Lastly, John Paolo B. Del Rosario was hailed as Mr. Photogenic 2024 in STRASUC Festival King and Queen event.
A total of 66 CvSU student-artists performers from different colleges and campuses joined this year’s 8th STRASUC-CAF participated by over 11 state universities and colleges, including URS, Batangas State University, Laguna State Polytechnic University, Mindoro State University, Marinduque State University, Occidental Mindoro State University, Palawan State University, Southern Luzon State University, University of the Philippines – Los Baños, and Western Philippines University.
