The Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) convened its 1st Semester 2025 Meeting on January 28, 2025, at the RDC Hall, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region IV-A Building, Calamba City, as they discussed updates, accomplishments, and plans to enhance gender mainstreaming efforts in CALABARZON.
Among the key agenda items discussed was the inclusion of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau Region IV-A as a new RGADC member, reinforcing the integration of gender perspectives in environmental policies and disaster risk reduction.
The 2024 RGADC Accomplishment Report highlighted initiatives such as the 2024 Regional Women’s Month Celebration, the CALABARZON GAD Resource Pool (CGRP) Deepening Session, and the successful implementation of gender-responsive programs.
The revised 2025 RGADC Work Plan was also introduced, emphasizing capacity-building efforts, gender-disaggregated data utilization, and compliance with gender and development (GAD) policies. Additionally, the CALABARZON GAD Agenda 2025-2030 was presented, outlining a strategic framework to establish the region as a leader in gender mainstreaming.
Significant discussions included updates on the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) and the revision of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Intake Forms to align with current legal frameworks. The meeting also featured insights into the best practices of Los Baños in gender mainstreaming, including the integration of the GAD Lens into local government initiatives such as senior and childcare centers and the LB GAD Learning Circuit.
The meeting reaffirmed RGADC’s commitment to strengthening gender-responsive governance in CALABARZON, ensuring inclusive and sustainable development in the region.
