Legal Services Office strives to deliver comprehensive legal support and resources to the University’s students, faculty and personnel in order to promote justice, and foster a supportive academic environment. We strive to educate the University community on legal rights and responsibilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

LEGAL CONSULTATION AND ADVISORY
Providing Counsel/Legal Opinion: Offering legal advice to university administrators, faculty, and staff on various legal issues of the University, including compliance, risk management, and policy interpretation.
CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: Preparing, and reviewing contracts and agreements related to university operations, including internships, partnerships, procurement, and employment.
HANDLING LEGAL DISPUTES
Litigation Management: Overseeing and managing cases involving the university, including coordinating with external legal counsel (Office of the Solicitor General)
Dispute Resolution: Engaging in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes whenever appropriate.
COMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the university complies with Philippine laws, as well as all government regulations and issuances (NPC, COA, DBM, CHED, GPPB, etc.)
Risk Assessment: Identifying and managing legal risks related to university operations, including developing strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.
STUDENT AND EMPLOYEE ISSUES
Disciplinary Actions: Addressing legal aspects of student disciplinary matters (in coordination with OSAS).
Employment Matters: Handling legal issues related to faculty and staff employment, including contracts, disputes, and disciplinary actions, including administrative cases (in coordination with HRDO).
DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT
Preparation and Review: Preparing and reviewing legal documents, including memos, briefs, and legal opinions.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and confidential records of legal documents and correspondence
POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION
Policy Drafting: Assisting in drafting and revising university policies to ensure they are legally sound.
Policy Implementation: Supporting the implementation of new policies and ensuring they are communicated effectively within the university.
LEGAL TRAINING AND EDUCATION
Legal Training: Providing training sessions on legal issues such as compliance, data privacy laws, and contractual obligations.
Workshops and Seminars: Organizing educational initiatives and events to keep the university community informed about relevant legal topics.
EXTERNAL RELATIONS
Liaison with Authorities: Coordinating with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other external entities on legal and compliance matters.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Meeting Coordination: Scheduling and attending meetings related to legal matters and providing administrative support for legal processes.
Correspondence Management: Handling legal correspondence, including letters, emails, and official communications pertaining to legal matters.
NOTARIAL SERVICES
Drafting and Notarization of various documents (COS, Affidavits, Deeds of Sale, Contract of Lease, etc.)
