ABOUT CTHM

Cavite State University recognized the ongoing demand for tourism and hospitality and its advantageous location near Tagaytay City. To address this, the university introduced the Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1994, followed by the BS Hotel and Restaurant Management Program in 1997, Diploma in Tourism Management in 1997, and the BS Tourism and Resort Management Program in 2003. These programs are offered by the College of Education. The programs have developed into the BS Hospitality Management (BSHM) and BS Tourism Management (BSTM) programs, respectively, in accordance with the standards outlined in CMO No. 62, series 2017.

The College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) at Cavite State University began as a department under the College of Education, offering programs in Tourism and Hospitality. Over the years, it demonstrated growth in enrollment, academic performance, and industry engagement, prompting efforts toward establishing it as a separate college.

The College is composed of two departments, the Department of Hospitality Management and the Department of Tourism Management, to distinguish across programs, and is offering Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, respectively.

This vision was realized on September 26, 2024, when the Board of Regents (BOR) approved the creation of CTHM as an independent college. Since then, CTHM has focused on enhancing its academic programs, expanding international partnerships, promoting faculty and student development, and strengthening community engagement.

Currently, the BSHM and BSTM programs have successfully completed thorough accreditation procedures. These programs have undertaken Level IV Phase 2 and Level III Phase 2 accreditation surveys conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on November 8-10, 2023. In addition, on June 16, 2021, they obtained the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from CHED, which further confirms their dedication to providing high-quality education and preparing graduates who can compete on a worldwide scale. The programs have established a reputation for quality due to their combined enrolment of more than two thousand students, highly skilled instructors, and numerous successes and accolades.

CTHM was been approved by the Board of Regents on September 26, 2024 and started operating as standalone college on January 6, 2025.
