The Cavite State University (CvSU) Gender and Development Resource Center (GADRC), Office of the Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Officer (OPPDAO), and the Philippine Society of Oncologists, Inc. (PSO) have successfully partnered to drive impactful health advocacies during the convention held last July 11, 2025, at the CvSU International Convention Center.

With the theme “EPIC: Empowering People through Integrated Compassionate Cancer Care,” the event aimed at advancing cancer awareness and fostering a holistic, whole-of-nation intervention.

In a concerted effort to strengthen cancer advocacy, the convention successfully brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including barangay health workers, primary care physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, local government health leaders, cancer advocates, patient representatives, and oncologists. As part of the initiative, advocacy kits and booths containing educational materials and essential health tools were also distributed to participants to aid in grassroots information dissemination and early detection efforts. This event highlighted the importance of a multidisciplinary and community-centered approach in addressing cancer care and awareness.

During the event, the CvSU GADRC was honored with a plaque of appreciation in recognition of its unwavering support, active partnership, and meaningful collaboration. This recognition also highlighted GADRC’s ongoing commitment under its existing Memorandum of Agreement with the involved offices, further reinforcing the value of academic-community linkages in advancing public health initiatives.
