With the theme “Time for Change: Realizing the Rights of Women with Disabilities”, Federation of Persons with Disability – Cavite, Inc (FPDCI) and GAD-RC, conducted an Orientation on Gender Sensitivity last March 11, 2020 at CACODEC Seminar Area, Provincial Capitol Compound, Trece Martires City, Cavite.
Ms. Raecel A. Estebat, OIC of GADRC, discussed the difference between sex and gender, gender role, gender stereotyping and agents of gender socialization. She emphasized that both culture and society have a very big impact on the expectation on the characteristics, aptitudes, and likely behaviors of both women and men. She also added that gender socialization begins with the family as soon as the baby is born.
Mr. David D. Gonzaga, President, FPDCI, expressed his gratitude to CvSU in providing the orientation to their members.
The said activity is also in line with the celebration of Women’s Month and the 16th Women with Disabilities Day. It was attended by 7 female and 14 male participants.
