The GAD Resource Center conducted a virtual orientation on Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in celebration of the Disaster Preparedness Month for the members of the Indang Association of Persons with Disability, Inc. on July 9, 2021. The webinar was attended by 6 male and 34 female participants.
Mr. Florian de Borja, President of IAPWD welcomed the participants and Ms. Raecel A. Estebat, In-Charge for Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation of the GADRC introduced the resource speaker.
Dr. Susan G. Tan, Director, GADRC discussed the importance of Disaster Preparedness specially for Persons with Special Needs. She explained the four phases of disaster management. She also showed the statistics of affected PWDs in the Philippines during disaster. She also explained what they should do to be prepared when disaster happens.
To formally end the webinar, Mr. Romulo Telmo, Vice President, IAPWDI delivered the closing remarks. (JRDEmelo)
