This 2018 marks the start of the University’s ISO journey in providing better services to its stakeholders as it establishes a Quality Management System (QMS) for instruction, research, extension, management and support services in its main campus in Indang, Cavite.
With consultancy services from the Development Academy of the Philippines, the University aims to enrich the CvSU community’s understanding and appreciation of principles and requirements of ISO 9001:2015 QMS; develop the capabilities of key officers and staff in preparing for and sustaining the ISO 9001:2015 certification; and prepare the documentation and implementation requirements for the certification of CvSU QMS and for maintaining and sustaining the established QMS.
Supervised by the University President, Dr. Hernando Robles, an ISO Core Team was created to lead the University in its goal of being ISO certified. The said core team includes: Dr. Leyma L. Cero, VP for Planning and Development; Dr. Camilo A. Polinga, VP for Academic Affairs; Dr. Henry O. Garcia, VP for Administrative and Support Services; Dr. Ruel M. Mojica, VP for Research and Extension; Dr. Ma. Cynthia R. Dela Cruz, Director for Research; Dr. Lilibeth C. Novicio, Director for Extension Services; Dr. David L. Cero, Director of Physical Planning Services; Dr. Bettina Joyce P. Ilagan, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Marilyn M. Escobar, Dean of College of Engineering and Information Technology; Dr. Noel Sedigo, Dean of Tanza-Trece-Trias Campus, Ms. Lolita G. Herrera, Head of Financial Management Office; Ms. Eileen Cubillo, Head of Records Office; Dr. Mary Jane D. Tepora, Head of Human Resource Develoment Office; Dr. Romeo M.Sanchez, Director of Health Services, Mr. Romulo Gomez, Director of Civil Security Services; Ms. Sharon M. Isip, In-Charge of the Office of Student Affairs and Services; Edna Mojica, Director for Administration; Edwina O. Roderos, In-charge of University Registrar; Dr. Elizabeth Polinga of OVPAA; and Mary Joyce Alcazar of OVPPD.
This seven-month project involves the following activities: Orientation on ISO 9001:2015 QMS, Training Course on ISO 9001:2015 QMS Requirements and Documentation, Workshop on Process Mapping and Risk-Based Quality Planning, Workshop on QMS Documentation, Technical Guidance on Enhancement of Operational Controls and Procedures, Technical Guidance on QMS Implementation, Training Course on Auditing QMS, Workshop on Auditing QMS and Technical Guidance on Management Review.
For best results, the said opportunity for a better CvSU is not the sole task of the Core Team but is a collaborative effort of all members of the CvSU community.
