4-part webinar on RP-FP

Speakers from the core group of CvSU Gender and Development Resource Center’’s Men’s Responsibility on Gender and Development KAlalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa PAmilya (MR GAD KATROPA) spearheaded month-long  webinar series on Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RP-FP) in cooperation with the Commission on Population and Development Region IV CALABARZON. Dubbed as PARTNERS IN GAD (Partnership in AwaReness TraiNing for Engaged and Responsible Stakeholders in Gender And Development), the said activity was conducted every Friday from August 7 to August 28, 2020.

The webinar series was attended by 80 GAD advocates and focal point persons (18 males, 62 females) from various sectors of both private and government agencies coming from CALABARZON. This activity outlined the RP-FP Program’s general objectives that deal with the issues related to sexual and reproductive health, including fertility and family planning concerns. It primarily aims to help couples realize their desired timing, spacing, and the number of children according to their socio-economic, emotional, and psychological capacity.

Among the topics discussed during the technical sessions were: 1) Nurturing Harmonious Relationships in the Family; 2) Responsible Parenthood; 3) Importance and Benefits of Family Planning and Decision Making for Couples; and 4) Family Planning. This webinar is part of the training and extension project of the GAD-RC. It served as an avenue for the CvSU GAD Resource Center’s continuing program to mainstream various gender issues, women’s and men’s involvement in equal roles, needs, opportunities, interests, and responsibilities in the changing world.
