A soft launching of two modules developed by the GAD Resource Center was held on March 31, 2022.  The modules on Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning and Gender Fair Language are the first modules developed by GADRC for the University.

Dr. Hernando D. Robles, University President, applauded the GADRC for their efforts during the national women’s month, which he described as “very excellent job”. He also conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the proponents and authors of this module and hoped to have more modules on gender and development.

Mr. Angelito S. Obcena, POPCOM Regional Director, expressed his gratitude for inviting POPCOM to be a part of the soft launch of modules and underlined the advantages of gender equality. He commended CvSU on the establishment of responsible parenthood, family planning, and gender fair language module, and expressed gratitude since CvSU is the only institution that places a high value on gender equality.

Mr. King David J. Agreda, one of the authors of responsible parenthood and family planning module provided a quick overview of the module’s content. This module contains six fundamental concepts and primarily aims to provide awareness, insight, and consciousness on the work required to build a nonviolent environment and our responsibility in family interactions. Mr. Agreda is also the Cavite City Campus GAD Coordinator, and President of CvSU MOVE KATROPA.

Ms. Arlene L. Estrada, GAD Coordinator, Trece Martires City Campus and one or the authors of gender-fair language module briefly discussed the module’s content. This module contains five essential part that deals in promoting gender equality using non-sexist language and utilizing gender-fair language.

Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, gave the closing remarks. She conveyed her deep appreciation and praised everyone involved in the creation of these instructional materials. She expressed her delight at having a concrete outcome, a resource material that would be of great help to CvSU’s stakeholders and believes that this scholarly work will benefit many people.
