The University joined and bagged different awards during the Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (STRASUC) Culture and the Arts Festival 2022 held from 14-18 November at Batangas State University, the National Engineering University.

With the theme “Advancing Culture and the Arts as a Strategic Resource for National Development”, BatSU-NEU hosted the 5-day festival participated by 12 state universities and colleges from CALABARZON and MIMAROPA Regions. CvSU President, Dr. Hernando D. Robles with VP Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, VP Lolita G. Herrera, and VP Mary Jane D. Tepora joined the CvSU delegation in the opening ceremony on 15 November.

In the visual arts category, Mr. Jose Mari Israita, a BA Journalism student from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), placed 5th in the Photography competition while Mr. Marc Stephen C. Malarayap, a BS Architecture student from the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT), secured the 4th place in the Painting competition.

Under the performing/literary arts category, the CvSU-Main Performing Arts Group also ranked 5th in the Short and Sweet Play and Folk Dance competition represented by the Student Artiste Society (STARS) and CvSU Cultural Dance Troupe (CCDT), respectively. The CvSU – Prime Movers and Primera Hija also bagged the 2nd place award in the Hip-Hop/Street Dance competition.

Meanwhile, Mr. Elly Boy P. Bondoc of Silang Campus and Ms. Jezreal A. De Ocampo  who represented the university in the Festival King and Queen 2022 received the Power Scents People’s Choice Award.

Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) was the hailed overall champion of STRASUC CAF 2022 upon receiving a total of 85 points
