The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Gender and Development (GAD) Center conducted a benchmarking activity on August 23, 2023, to know and understand the best practices of the university’s Gender and Development Resource Center (GADRC).

CBSUA staff, headed by Dr. Glenn E. Redicilla, CBSUA GAD Center Director, and other GAD focal persons, coordinators, deans, and core group members from CBSUA satellite campuses (Pasacao, Calabanga, and Sipocot), were welcomed by GADRC Director Dr. Susan G. Tan.

Ms. Maria Czarina P. Sioco, In-charge of Data Banking and Publication, highlighted the best GAD practices using the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework’s four entry points (policy, people, enabling mechanisms, and programs, activities, and projects). She emphasized that the GADRC’s four-time recognition was made possible through the top management’s persistent and unwavering support for the center’s efforts to integrate GAD.

Ms. Raecel A. Estebat, In-Charge of Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation, addressed all delegates’ questions, such as on policies regarding LGBTQ++ students’ uniforms and haircuts, the appointment of GAD coordinators/GAD alternates in every office/unit/campus/student organizations, and guidelines for incorporating GAD concepts into course syllabuses.
