Cavite State University (CvSU)’s pursuit of internationalization makes it one of the Philippine higher education institutions (PHEIs) recognized during the Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2023, October 6, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

On behalf of University President Dr. Hernando D. Robles, Prof. Ma. Veronica P. Peñaflorida of the International and Local Collaboration and Linkages Office received the ICONS Awards 2023 – Ranking Award for CvSU in recognition of its commendable performance as a three-star rated PHEI by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World/Asia Rankings and Star Ratings.

In March 2023, CvSU entered the QS ratings and rankings which “provides universities across the world with bespoke comparative performance analysis according to metrics central to each institution’s mission: teaching, research impact, reputational standing, student employability, and internationalization.”

The QS World/Asia Rankings and Star Ratings is one of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-recognized international league tables along with the Times Higher Education (THE) World, Asia, and Impact Rankings; and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).

Organized by CHED – International Affairs Service, the ICONS Awards celebrates the addition of new internationally-recognized PHEIs, and highlights the high-impact initiatives of PHEIs towards sustainability, ASEAN awareness, and internationalization.

The awards also highlight the Internationalization Awards for exemplary PHEIs and leaders championing the internalization of Philippine higher education, the ASEANWave Webxhibition and Festival Awards for cultural exhibition and festival of creative and innovative works, and the recognition of PHEIs assessed and certified by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Network.
