Cavite State University (CvSU) officials and designated faculty members and non-academic personnel underwent a two-day General Orientation on Institutional Accreditation (IA) by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., March 13-14.

Spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Planning and Development, the said activity aims to provide participants with the necessary information about the IA process, including the preparation of the required documents, facilities, and workforce.

AACCUP Executive Director Dr. Mirabel E. Ho led the lecture-workshop on the IA process where a higher education institution is being assessed in nine key areas.

Meanwhile, AACCUP IT Officer III Mr. Dominic T. Martinez discussed the digitizing, uploading, and presentation of relevant documents for the IA survey. 

Present in the activity are CvSU President Dr. Hernando D. Robles, Vice President (VP) for Academic Affairs Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, VP for Planning and Development Dr. Mary Jane D. Tepora, VP for Administrative and Support Services Prof. John Xavier B. Nepomuceno, and VP for Research and Extension Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac.

The participants were assigned in the following nine key areas for assessment, with Institutional Development Office Director Dr. Pia Rhoda P. Lucero and Planning Office Director Engr. Orlando B. delos Reyes as the overall coordinators: (Area I) Governance and Management; (Area II) Teaching, Learning and Evaluation; (Area III) Faculty and Staff; (Area IV) Research; (Area V) Extension, Consultancy and Linkages; (Area VI) Support to Students; (Area VII) Library; (Area VIII) Infrastructure and other Learning Resources; and (Area IX) Quality Assurance Culture.
