Workshop on GAD Planning and Budgeting in CvSU

 

The Cavite state University Gender and Development Resource Center spearheaded the Workshop on GAD Planning and Budgeting on September 27-28, 2018 at the Hostel Tropicana, CvSU, Indang, Cavite. The activity was participated by 3 male and 25 female GAD Coordinators and Alternates of the different colleges, campuses, and units of the university.

Dr. Hernando D. Robles, President, Ms. Lolita G. Herrera, Director for Finance Management Office, and Dr. Mary Jane D. Tepora, Director for Human Resource Development Office also joined the workshop.

Orientation on the Guidelines on the Preparation of GAD Plan and Budget and Accomplishment Report was provided by Dr. Nelia C. Cresino, GAD Director. She explained the different mandates related to GAD planning and budgeting.

The 2018 GAD Accomplishment Report of the different colleges/campuses/units were presented by the GAD coordinators and alternates.

Moreover the second day was devoted on the preparation of the 2020 GAD Plan and Budget for their respective colleges/campuses/units.

 CvSU Faculty and Staff attend the 7th Regional GAD Convention

 

The Director of Gender and Development, Dr. Nelia C. Cresino together with Ms. Cecilia F. Lorenzana, GAD Coordinator-CCAT Campus, Ms. Jenny Capupus, GAD Alternate-OVPASS, and Ms. Raecel A. Estebat, GAD Resource Center staff attended the 7th Regional GAD Convention on September 4-6, 2018 at Lima Park Hotel, Malvar, Batangas with the theme “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Advancing Mainstreaming Initiatives in Calabarzon. The activity was attended by a total of 363 representatives from the Local Government Units, Regional Line Agencies, Academe, and Private Sectors.

The convention includes the discussion of the challenges and gaps on GAD mainstreaming in research, policies, and in different sectors such as health and economics.

The convention was focused on the following sessions: Advancing GAD through Policy Review and Academic Research, Enabling Mechanisms to End All Forms of Violence Against Women and Children, GAD Issues on Health, Convergence Approach to Women Economic Empowerment, Leading Women, and Issuances on GAD.
