Quality education has become more accessible to Dasmarineños following the inauguration of the Cavite State University (CvSU) Learning Center – City of Dasmariñas Campus, September 18.

The establishment of the learning center located in Barangay Burol Main was made possible through a Memorandum of Agreement between the CvSU and the city government in February this year, with the goal to make quality education more accessible to city residents.

University and city government officials and employees led by CvSU President Dr. Hernando D. Robles, CvSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, Dasmariñas City Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga, CvSU Learning Center Administrator Dr. Gemma S. Legaspi, Dasmariñas City Vice Mayor Raul Rex D. Mangubat, and Board Member Francisco “Kiko” A. Barzaga graced the ceremony as the learning center began the admission of new students for the first semester of A.Y. 2023-2024.

In his message, Dr. Robles assured that CvSU will always be a partner in building the future of the people of Dasmariñas and realizing their dream to finish their college degree.

For her part, Mayor Barzaga highlighted the city government’s efforts to ensure that their constituents will have access to quality education, expressing hopes that these initiatives will be strengthened through their partnership with CvSU.

Meanwhile, Dr. Legaspi shared that the learning center received more than 5,000 admission requests. However, they can only accommodate 360 students in its initial year of operation.

The learning center offers the following courses beginning this academic year: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accountancy, BS in Business Management (major in Operations Management/Marketing/Financial Management), BS in Criminology, Bachelor of Elementary Education, and Bachelor of Secondary Education (major in English/Science/Math).
