MUNTINLUPA CITY – Cavite State University (CvSU) President Dr. Hernando D. Robles attended the opening program of the three-day International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences (ISSAAS) International Scientific Congress and General Meeting 2023 with the theme “Integrated Management of Southeast Asian Agricultural Landscapes,” November 8-10.

As one of the partner organizations of ISSAAS Philippines, this platform also serves as an opportunity for CvSU to network with other researchers, scientists, and educational institutions, including Học viện Nông nghiệp Việt Nam (Vietnam Academy of Agriculture) and Tokyo University of Agriculture. 

Composed of professionals, researchers, and academics from Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, ISSAAS aims to strengthen cooperation of agricultural scientists in the Asian and Southeast Asian regions, and promote the progress and development of agricultural sciences towards regional agricultural development. 

In support of the Sustainable Development Goals, the congress will focus on four subthemes: Food Security and Managing Agricultural Risks; Soil and Water Conservation in the Agricultural Landscape; Enhancing Climate Resilience of Agricultural Systems across the Landscape; and Adapting to Changing Markets in Agriculture through Market Systems and Incentives.
