The CvSU Hornets Badminton Team victoriously competed and nabbed the 1st and 2nd places in the recently concluded 6th National Student Badminton Championship (NSBC) organized by the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP) in collaboration with Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) on 11-12 February 2023.

Ms. Rhealyn D. Villar, a fourth-year BSIT student, secured the 1st spot in the women’s division of the championship followed by Ms. Allysa L. Laylo, third-year BS Accountancy student who placed second. Meanwhile, Mr. Mark Arman D. Rimas, a first-year BSBM student, also bagged second place in the men’s division.

The CvSU student-athletes sent in the said national competition was coached by Mr. Ferdie C. Andulan- Head Coach, with Mr. Kevin C. Ylanan-Assistant Coach, and University Sports Director Analiza R. Mojica.

Hosted by BPSU at Bataan Youth Center, Balanga City, Bataan Province, the 6th National Student Badminton and Table Tennis Championships were conducted in search of the top 2 student-athletes from men’s and women’s divisions to represent the Philippines in the 31st Summer World University Games, a sports competition organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), set to happen on July 27 to August 8, 2023, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.
