Three BS International Studies students competed and won in the quiz bowl and essay writing competitions during the recently concluded virtual International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO, hosted by the National Coordinating Body of UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines on 10-12 December via Zoom Conferencing.

The tandem of Justine Bencito and Mark Nasil Caguing triumphed as they took 1st place in the Quiz Bowl Competition – College Category which focused on UNESCO and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Meanwhile, Ronan Abalos finished second among over 50 contestants in the Essay Writing Competition on the theme “The Role of the Youth in Protecting Our Ocean Towards Sustainable Development.”

Also during the event, the International Studies Students’ Association (ISSA) was awarded a Certificate of Good Standing for the third time as one of UNESCO’s RE-ACCREDITED clubs in the Philippines. (JMBencito)
